Overview
Same Team (“we”, “our”, “the app”) is a household management app for couples. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Data We Collect
- Name: Your display name, entered during setup. Used to identify you to your partner within the app.
- Apple ID email: Collected via Sign in with Apple. Used for authentication only. We receive only the email you choose to share (which may be Apple’s private relay address).
- User ID: A unique identifier assigned to your account. Used to associate your data with your profile.
Household Data
When you use Same Team, you create and share data with your partner within a household:
- Schedule events, meal plans, and grocery lists
- Expenses and financial splits
- Tasks (Radar) and conversation notes (Write That Down)
- Shared dreams and goals
- Recipes and staple items
This data is stored in your household and visible to both partners. It is not shared with anyone outside your household.
Analytics Data
We use PostHog to collect anonymous usage analytics:
- Screen views and feature usage (e.g., which tabs are visited, how often Weekly Sync is used)
- Error events (to diagnose and fix bugs)
- Session replays (anonymized, to understand app usage patterns)
Analytics data is not linked to your identity and is used solely to improve the app experience.
Data We Do NOT Collect
- Location data
- Contacts or address book
- Photos or media
- Health or fitness data
- Financial account credentials (we track expense amounts you enter, not bank accounts)
- Advertising identifiers
How We Use Your Data
- App functionality: To provide shared household features between you and your partner
- Authentication: To verify your identity via Apple Sign-In
- Analytics: To understand usage patterns and improve the app (anonymized)
- Notifications: To notify your partner when you add or change shared items
We do not use your data for advertising, sell it to third parties, or share it with data brokers.
Data Storage & Security
- Database: Your data is stored securely on Supabase (hosted on AWS infrastructure) with row-level security policies ensuring you can only access your own household’s data.
- Encryption: All data in transit is encrypted via TLS/HTTPS. Data at rest is encrypted by Supabase’s infrastructure.
- Authentication: Managed by Supabase Auth with Apple Sign-In integration.
Data Sharing
We share data only in these circumstances:
- With your partner: All household data is shared between the two members of a household. This is the core functionality of the app.
- Service providers: We use Supabase (database/auth) and PostHog (analytics). These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy policies.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose data if required by law or legal process.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
Your Rights
- Delete your account: You can sign out and request account deletion by contacting us at sameteam.support@gmail.com
. We will delete your profile and disassociate your data.
- Access your data: Contact us to request a copy of the data we store about you.
- Leave a household: Signing out removes your access to household data.
Children’s Privacy
Same Team is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Subscriptions
After a 30-day free trial, Same Team offers two subscription options: monthly and annual. Subscription purchases are processed by Apple and subject to Apple’s terms. We do not store payment information. All billing is handled by the App Store.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
